EDITOR’S

LETTER

We’re all now officially

in the eye of the storm

that is mid-season;

getting ready to start

next season’s buying

optimism, but still

gauging customer

response to last season’s

collections and reorders. Here at

Attire

Accessories

, we’re keen to find out how

consumers are responding to post-Brexit

pricing adjustments and which pre-season

styles have staying power.

Luckily for us, we’ll have plenty of

opportunities to speak to you – and other

industry insiders – when we attend Pulse.

Renowned for its innovative vision and

keen eye for fresh design talent, we also

hope to pick up some trend tips and names

to watch. With its refreshed line-up now

including Pulse Unseen and Makers,

the show continues to push boundaries

in its pursuit of newness. The successful

ShopTalk and UAL initiatives also make a

return – surely promising an enlightening

three-day trade extravaganza for exhibitors,

buyers and visitors alike. Check out our

comprehensive show preview, complete

with a trend forecast round-up and

exhibitor profiles in this issue.

Meet the Manufacturer is another show

that will mark this transitional period, but

this year’s edition is set to be bigger and

better than ever before: it’s welcoming a

raft of new sponsors, and designers will

exhibit in the all-new brands hall. Read our

pre-show coverage for more on why you

should come along. Meanwhile, Fashion

SVP returns again this summer, allowing

retailers the chance to meet first-class

producers from across Europe and beyond.

As well as our show previews, regular

features and interviews, we take a look

at the best watches, men’s accessories,

party pieces and gold and silver jewellery

available at the moment.This issue’s

competition prize of InSpirit men’s

jewellery and window display worth £500

RRP comes courtesy of popular jewellery

label, International Collection.

Editor’s pick

I can’t resist classic Disney films – and you

all know I can’t resist jewellery – so it’ll

be no surprise to regular readers that I’ve

taken a shine to Disney Couture’s Beauty

and the Beast collection, which features

several charming motifs from the original

animated film, including the iconic rose in

the bell jar. However, my favourite pieces

are the Mrs Potts earrings. I can almost hear

Angela Lansbury singing

Tale as Old as Time

.

These studs are perfect for fans of either the

animated or live action movies, as well as

appreciators of fun fashion accessories.
