ATTIRE 13 NEWS & EVENTS ➨ UK shoe brand Butterfly Twists has revealed record sales with its patriotic ballerina shoe, the Jacqui. Butterfly Twists’ sales data revealed a surge of 153 per cent in purchases of the patriotic shoe leading up to the Royal Wedding. Sales of the Jacqui have contributed to 12 per cent of this year’s sales for the brand. Furthermore, 90 per cent of purchasers have been first-time buyers. Eleven of Butterfly Twists shoes are named after women. In 2013, Butterfly Twists launched its Kate shoe, named after the Duchess of Cambridge. In 2015 came the Charlotte, named after the Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter. Emmanuel Eribo, CEO and co-founder of Butterfly Twists, comments: “Both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are style icons. Especially Meghan, who has been pictured on multiple occasions wearing flats.” He continues: “Flats have become fashionable on and off the catwalk. We wanted to create a shoe that is memorable, stylish and patriotic, which is exactly what the Jacqui represents.” Butterfly Twists revamped its Jacqui shoe ahead of the Royal Wedding, with the shoe itself being emblazoned with the Union Jack. Held at Islington’s Business Centre, the event showcased up-and-coming childrenswear brands, including footwear, fashion, accessories, gifts and interiors. Releasing a statement, the team said: “After 10 wonderful years, Bubble London has closed its doors for the last time. Goodbye from the team, and thank you for all your support and the great times we’ve had. “We hope to see you again at our other exhibitions: Moda, Jacket Required and Scoop.” Visit Swiss watch brand Frederique Constant has announced it is to continue its partnership with Gwyneth Paltrow, who will act as the company’s Global Charity Ambassador for the third consecutive year. As part of the campaign, Gwyneth chose to align with charity organisation, involved in supporting education for children, making it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, whether it is through books, school supplies or funding field trips.
