16 ATTIRE Californian sock brand Socksmith has launched into the UK, using Pulse London as its launchpad. Socksmith is a family business started with Ellen and Eric Gill’s passion for socks. Launched 30 years ago, the Socksmith brand has developed a distinctive upbeat character with a prolific, different and fun design ethic and is distributed widely across the U.S.The brand aim is to offer something fun and different to brighten every day. The brand launches a new stock range and seasonal range for men and women separately every season. Socksmith has already had a great reaction in the UK, with sales having got under way early with both major fashion stores and the gift shop sector, including national treasures such as The Natural History Museum and The National Gallery. At N16 Vintage we love to create. “Early reactions to the debut wholesale ranges for AW18 have been incredible, and we know from our own experience of selling the socks in our own Ragyard stores that customers love the quality and expression of creativity.” Visit WORTH PARTNERSHIP PROJECT APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN FOR THE SECOND CALL WORTH Partnership Project, an initiative of the European Union to boost the fashion and lifestyle industry within Europe and develop innovative and design-driven products, has announced the first 25 winning partnerships from the first call. The #WORTHPartnershipProject has reopened applications to discover the next round of promising projects. WORTH is embarking on the second edition of a four-year journey, aiming to support 150 partnerships throughout the project duration.The second call for applications will be ongoing until 24 th October, 2018.The WORTH Community is rapidly increasing, with more than 700 members registered on the WORTH platform ready to connect and build transnational collaborations. Awarded projects will receive funding, coaching, participation in international events, professional links, market upscale and access to an innovative community to kickstart their disruptive design ideas. COSME WORTH Partnership Project supports collaborations between fashion designers, traditional and digital craftsmanship and the manufacturing industry.The selected partnerships will receive financial and capacity-building support to exchange knowledge and skills between manufacturing, creative and technology companies with €10,000 seed money per project, individual coaching and advice on product market positioning, branding and intellectual property rights, participating in two international events, networking, cross-sectorial collaboration and product development. WORTH Partnership Project provides funding for transnational partnerships between highly innovative SMEs in fashion, design and lifestyle industries.The first edition received more than 100 promising project proposals, which were narrowed down to 41 shortlisted partnerships that pitched in an international competition in front of a high-profile jury.
