PROFILE CHRISTIN RANGER 99 As we all know, the retail marketplace is changing to an online world. The younger generations buy in a completely different way. It is important to recognise this, learn, use it and not be intimidated by it. Everybody is scrambling to stay ahead of the game. That said, if you have a good product and can recognise your client, then it should be a win- win scenario. Christin Ranger Jewellery is a relatively new brand and soon to be a registered trademark. People are already recognising the packaging, which is a huge step towards brand awareness. Shoppers always comment that we have jewellery that you don’t see everywhere else and, importantly, is not too expensive. While continuing to pursue the UK market, we are expanding into Europe as well as the United States. We will soon travel to Spain, where we had a retail/wholesale business for 15 years and still have connections. There are still a lot of unknowns as far as Brexit goes, but I think there is still plenty of business to be done. Our stockist in Paris has had an enormous success with our jewellery, and that has led to other European countries as well as a Hong Kong client. The retail marketplace is changing, and we have to adapt our methods. We are starting to improve our use of social media to drive sales to the website. We are also looking into affiliated sales where you access other areas for increased exposure. At the same time, we always re-evaluate where our energies are best directed. This is a never-ending process, but it seems to be working well for us.
