Our Twitter account was set up in April 2009, and our Instagram account started in November 2012. As an important marketing tool, it’s one of your shop windows so an obvious complement to your website and overall marketing strategy. It’s also a vital part of your brand’s intellectual property portfolio. Has your business benefited as a result? If so, how? We’ve benefited from the immediacy of getting information to market in the form of collections, ranges, offers and news. Interaction with customers and feedback adds value and credibility for buyers. Where do you see the future of social media going, and how can it continue to drive brands forward? It will evolve with new platforms and opportunities as it matures, together with more social responsibility. It’s a tool, and it’s down to the brands to utilise it effectively with relevant, engaging content. How often do you tweet, and what do you post about? We post on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Facebook every day. Each platform is different. For example, Twitter is text and Instagram is images, so we tailor content accordingly so that it’s relevant to that platform’s audience. What advice would you give to first-time social media users?   Be commercial and professional, consistent and reliable. An abandoned or patchy feed is a deal-breaker for trust. Which accessories companies do you enjoy following on Twitter and Instagram?   We follow a wide variety of influencers, bloggers, brands, customers, retailers and boutiques to give us an informed view of what’s going on.
