Derbyshire jewellers C W Sellors kick started the countdown to Christmas last weekend with yuletide treats and shopping ideas at this year's Christmas Wishes fine jewellery and watch showcase in the grounds of Chatsworth House. The festive event, now in its ninth year was attended by over 2,500 visitors and brought together the most desirable collections of jewellery and watches in one venue.
Joan Rivers visited the event on Friday and we're told she enjoyed looking around the festive showcase, and earlier that evening, Deborah Vivien Cavendish, Dowager Duchess of Devonshire was given a specially arranged preview of the event.
The 'find a diamond' challenged guests to select the real diamond from a sparkling sea of cubic zirconia raising money for the NSPCC. The event raised a total of £547 for the Air Ambulance and £1,235 for the NSPCC.
Chris Sellors commented: "It was wonderful to have the Dowager view our Christmas Wishes showcase and her keeping a close eye and interest in our business progress since her Grace opened our Ashbourne Jewellery workshop back in 1987. It is fantastic to be at Chatsworth showcasing our wonderful collections, seeing our customers enjoying choosing their gems and at the same time having fun raising money for charity."
