14 YOUNG SOLES FOOTWEAR BRAND ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH RICHARD HOUSE CHILDREN’S HOSPICE Footwear brand Young Soles footwear brand has announced a partnership with Richard House Children’s Hospice. As part of the partnership, Young Soles will donate shoes to the hospice twice a year, as well as support the charity through fundraising and volunteering activities. The company hopes to help the hospice reach its fundraising goal of £3.5million for 2018/19. Young Soles founder Louise Shill said, “Initially, we were looking for a charity partner that was both local and that sat well with our brand ethos. As London’s first children’s hospice, Richard House was the obvious choice. It is based just a stone’s throw from us, but more importantly, it’s making a huge difference to the lives of so many children in our local community. I’m thrilled that we can support the hospice and even more delighted that our shoes will bring smiles to the faces of these children, their families and everyone who works at the hospice.” Visit youngsoles.com BOXING DAY FOOTFALL DROPS FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR Boxing Day footfall has fallen by 3.1 percent, the third consecutive annual drop, according to research by Springboard. According to the data, the magnitude of the drop is less than in 2016 because of a smaller drop in high street footfall, which was virtually flat at -0.3 per cent compared with -6.2 per cent in 2017 and -3.6 per cent in 2016. This was attributed to a wider choice of restaurants and coffee shops on the high street over shopping centres. Footfall also fell at retail parks, with at least part of the decline put down to a fall in confidence over the ability to spend large sums on bigger household goods/furniture.
