Attire Accessories - Jul/Aug 2019 (Issue 77)

78 Harrogate Fashion Week is set to be an essential date on the show calendar, offering a wide selection of brands. Stating that the upcoming event is “shaping up nicely”, show director Sarah Moody talks to us about why accessories brands are choosing to exhibit there. “We have many returning exhibitors,” she said. “John Charles, Pomodoro, Sahara, Orientique, Lily & Me, Goose Island and Ella Boo, to just a few. We also have some exciting new brands confirmed, including Captain Corsaire, Mistral and Lotus Shoes. “One of the more notable developments is that we are getting much interest from footwear brands that are looking to target the independent boutique market, and these brands want to be right in among the womenswear exhibitors, not lost in a hall full of footwear where womenswear buyers may not even go.” With a noticeable increase in accessories exhibitors, Sarah noted a few prominent companies. Brands Collective, including Ashwood Leather and Pia Rossini, will be there, as well as Sarah Cavender Metalworks, which has featured in Vogue . Footwear brands looking to increase their presence in independent boutiques will also be present. Harrogate Fashion Week promises to be an essential buying date on the calendar NIGHT CAP If you’re looking to make a night of it, now’s the time to book. The exhibition organisers have taken the stress away, having teamed up with hotel bookings agency MICE to offer special rates at many hotels in the area. Director Wendy Adams says, “We want to make the buyers’ experiences in Harrogate as pleasant and cost-effective as possible, and a large part of this is making sure that they’re getting good value for money with their hotel accommodation. Harrogate is such a wonderful part of the world, and we’ve found that a number of buyers are staying an extra day or so to allow time to pop out to Bettys tea rooms or Gino D’Acampo’s for lunch, and then come back into the exhibition for the afternoon. Alternatively, you could make a mini- break of it and spend some time in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, which are on Harrogate’s doorstep.” For more information on how to book, visit harrogatefashionweek.com Who: Harrogate Fashion Week, harrogatefashionweek.com What: A beautiful setting for a weekend break, check out the show for a curated product offering within the fashion industry, with a focus on accessories Where: Harrogate Convention Centre, Harrogate When: 28 th -29 th July, 2019 Fashion focus
