Attire Accessories - Seo/Oct 2019 (Issue 78)

64 THE BIG DRAW Louise Prance talks exclusively to Alejandra Campos, event director at Top Drawer, about what’s to come at the popular show Q. In your opinion why is Top Drawer the must-visit event on the show calendar? The team has worked incredibly hard over the past few years to create a fashion offering that truly sets us apart, and visitors will see this in the curation of brands and products on display. We always strive to evolve our offering in line with what our buyers are searching for and are proud to have the UK’s largest presentation of design-led jewellery and accessories. Top Drawer is the only place that visitors will find jewellery and accessories of this calibre at the perfect time for them to top up ahead of Christmas and the new year. Q. What can buyers expect from the Autumn Top Drawer event? Buyers at the September edition of Top Drawer can expect to find an incredible variety of products to suit every aesthetic. Following its successful January launch, our dedicated men’s area, MR., and its complementary trail will join the September line-up for the very first time; the perfect place for visitors to discover jewellery, accessories and gifts for the modern man. Our CRAFT sector will give exhibitors access to pieces that are truly unique; handmade with the skill and knowledge of specialty craftspeople. Once again, Capsule will continue to defy trends by offering a variety of beautiful transseasonal collections that stand the test of time, whilst the Spotted/Pulse sector gives exclusive access to emerging design and new talent; showcasing products that are brand new, but market-ready. Q. Are there any new events that visitors can look forward to? Focused on helping visitors stay ahead of the curve, RetailFest will be back with its most inspiring programme of panel discussions, keynote presentations and masterclasses yet. Among the inspiring names not to be missed are fashion designer and former model Melissa Odabash, who will be talking us through everything from her creative process to disruption models. Jack Norman, Selfridge’s experiential retail manager will join a panel discussion that will bring unparalleled insight and forecasts to help visitors develop a confident approach for the season ahead. We’re also thrilled to welcome Georgie Coleridge Cole, editor of Sheerluxe, who will be interviewed by award-winning digital strategist and influencer Rosanna Falconer, where she will share her journey towards becoming the UK’s leading online fashion and lifestyle publisher. Q. Are there any standout fashion accessories brands of note? Buyers looking for accessories won’t want to miss Nologo Chic, Jessica Russell Flint, Sixton London, Somerville Scarves and Catherine Tough, to name just a few. Q. Any newcomer accessories brands? In September visitors will discover a host of incredible brands that are new to the show. These include Pyla, FL Private Collection, Joma Jewellery, Katie Loxton, Little by Little, Don Fisher, Billy Belt, Pearls of the Orient, Lizzy James and much more.
