SCOTLAND’S TRADE FAIR SPRING 41 EMERGING TALENT Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring looks set to be a successful buying event with a focus on new design talent and established brands Scotland Trade Show Spring is a popular Northern destination for January buying and is set to be a hotbed for emerging talent. According to a press release at least one third of all the 500 plus exhibitors are new to the show, while many of the returning favourites will be unveiling new ranges. This year’s show includes Bretons from Paris, Channel jumpers, Bucktrout Tailoring, Ness, Earth Squared, Bill Baber knitwear, Jane Marshall Jewellery, Eribe knitwear, Sea Gems, Pilgrim Jewellery and Snow Paw. WHAT TO EXPECT? The show has a wealth of must-see draws, with The Talk Shop offering attendees a valuable insight into the market through a range of talks and workshops, while Nessie’s Den will be returning for a second year with emerging producers set to showcase their products to the well- respected retailers. The Best Product awards will be judged on the opening day, while the Launch Gallery is said to be a mecca for new young producers, with a focus on accessory designers. Meanwhile the creative Craft Gallery showcases Scottish talent from bespoke producers. WHO’S GOING? Scotland’s Trade Fair Spring welcomes visitors from all over the country and is seen as a social networking event for the likes of retailers, farm shops, tourist destinations and department stores.
