Visit lakelandleather.co.uk GERMAN SHOE MANUFACTURER CAPRICE EXPANDS INTO MYANMAR WITH FACTORY INVESTMENT German shoe manufacturer Caprice has expanded into Myanmar having invested in a state-of-the-art factory site. Having steadily increased its share of Myanmar-made shoes yearly production to almost one million pairs, the company is now operating a new shoe factory in the northwest of Yangon together with Taiwanese partner Mountain Top Global Ltd. Jürgen Cölsch, managing partner of Caprice, said, “Due to increasing sales figures and continuing relocations from other production countries, we plan to gradually raise the production volume in Myanmar by 2024 to two million pairs of high-quality leather shoes every year.” The newly-created factory will produce up to 150,000 shoes per month, and is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and production facilities. According to a press release, “Caprice shoe technicians train the newly hired factory workers on-site and in live video conferences from Germany to Myanmar. Caprice participates financially and organizationally in the $6 million project, which had a construction period of two years.” Visit caprice.de SOCK BRAND STANCE ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH CENTREPOINT HOMELESS CHARITY Sock brand Stance has announced a partnership with Centrepoint homeless charity ahead of National Sock Day.
