JEWELLERY & WATCH 67 Jewellery & Watch is back at the NEC, Birmingham in a new location that will please fashion, jewellery and accessories buyers. Here’s what to expect from the Spring Fair co-located show Who: Jewellery & Watch jewelleryandwatchbirmingham.com Where: NEC, Birmingham When: 2 nd -6 th February, 2020 FASHION SVP Location, location, Following the complete re-edit of Spring Fair, co-located show Jewellery & Watch will now take place at the very front of Hall One, just off the main piazza of NEC, Birmingham. Jewellery & Watch offers four main product sectors for visiting buyers and retailers: Jewellery Services & Solutions; Fashion, Silver and Semi-Precious; Designer Brands; and Fine Jewellery. Just like previous years, exhibitors will reflect emerging trends in the jewellery sector, such as a return to in-store ear piercing with the likes of Studex UK Ltd and Inverness (Goodman Bros). Elsewhere, exhibitors are taking their biggest stands to date, spurred on by the shift to Hall One and the fashion and giftware buyers this will drive through Jewellery & Watch. Yulan Jewellery (Stand 1B60) has been exhibiting since 1998 and will take its largest ever stand in 2020. Owner and founder, Paul Burkmar, says, “The reason we like Jewellery & Watch so much is its central location. We see far more Scottish, Irish and international stockists there. February is good for us with those looking for something fresh in the New Year, and we always have something new on display. The world has changed in the twenty-plus years I have been exhibiting. Jewellery & Watch will be different for sure, which is why we want to embrace the change. Rather than dip our toe in the water, we want to have a decent presence. I am excited for the show, a little bit like when I prepared for it for the first time all those years ago!” This year’s Jewellery & Watch will also host an exciting buyers’ program – Spring FORWARD – in conjunction with the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ). Designed to put homegrown jewellery design talents in the path of department store buyers, the scheme will have a dedicated exhibition space at Jewellery & Watch and guaranteed on-site appointments with buyers from John Lewis and Fenwick, among others. This new project ties into broader Jewellery & Watch and Spring Fair aims to foster meaningful connections between its visitors and exhibitors. Jewellery & Watch event director, Kirsty Broere explains the event’s change in location: “Creating a return on time investment is a huge priority for Jewellery & Watch, as well as Spring Fair and our parent company, Hyve Group plc. By moving to Hall One, with close adjacencies to fashion, giftware and accessories exhibitors, buyers can easily browse related product categories and discover something new. This exciting new show layout, which is designed to mimic the bustle of a large department store, will provide lots of inspiring ideas for business diversification. This year, many jewellery businesses have expanded into gifts, bridalwear and stationary, which makes showcasing options even more vital. This is the direction that Jewellery & Watch is taking, and I look forward to gauging the industry’s response.” ONES TO WATCH Plan an ocean-themed summer 2020 offer with Thomas P.
