One of a kind Andrew Macgowan silver piece to be auctioned at The Benevolent Society Ball, bids now being taken!: Image 1 Esteemed Silversmith, Andrew Macgowan, has generously agreed to design and make a bespoke silver bowl to be auctioned at The Benevolent Society Ball on 5th December. The one of a kind piece is currently being made from more than a kilo of hallmarked Britannia Silver that has been generously donated by Umicore and will feature diamonds donated by Jewellery Brokers/ www.diamondsplease.co.uk. Photographs of the bowl being hand made by Andrew Macgowan will accompany the bowl to ensure that the future provenance is established.

Due to the exclusive nature of the piece it's anticipated that this auction lot will be highly sought after and with this in mind, The Benevolent Society will be taking bids prior to the event to enable those who cannot attend the Benevolent Ball a chance to get their hands on this stunning and collectable piece.

David Doyle, Vice Chairman of The Benevolent Society & President of the NAJ who will be auctioning this piece on the night of the Benevolent Ball says, "Due to the special nature of this piece that will be marked one of one it's anticipated that this auction lot will be highly sought after and with this in mind we believe it only fair to accept bids prior to the event in order to enable those who cannot attend the Benevolent Ball a chance to get their hands on this completely special and signed one off piece. It's quite simply history in the making and one of those very rare opportunities that people may be fortunate enough to get to acquire a truly notable and functional silver piece. The Queen already has one of Andy's Silver bowls in her private collection and I'm in no doubt that this will become another truly notable piece of the future and a very sound investment for some lucky bidder."

If you are unable to attend the event but would like to place a bid for this iconic piece then please email auctioneer David Doyle here: auction@thebenevolentsociety.co.uk

Please palce your maximum bid by midday on Wednesday 4th December. The Benevolent Society would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew Macgowan, Umicore and Jewellery Brokers/diamondsplease.co.uk for their generous contributions. The annual charity ball, featuring the NAJ Awards, will be held at the St John's Hotel on 5th December.
