Visitor numbers up at Scotland's Trade Fair Spring

Visitor numbers up at Scotland's Trade Fair Spring: Image 1 Scotland's Trade Fair Spring closed on a positive note this week, with organiser Springboard Events reporting a four per cent rise in attendance figures. Visitors also commented on the high quality of products on offer at the event, which ran from 19th-21st January at SEC, Glasgow.

The show attracts a full range of shops, galleries, tourist destinations, online outlets and overseas buyers across craft, fashion and accessories and home and gift. With the Scotland brand representing quality and originality, this year's fair also saw a big increase in attendees from North America, Japan and France.

Trends for 2020 included increased interest in sustainability and packaging, reflected by producers in the way they present their goods, the types of products on offer and the provenance. There was also a packed programme of presentations and workshops in the show's Talking Shop theatre, while the Best Product Awards also caught the attention of visitors.

"This has been an excellent show for us," says Mairi Oakley from furniture supplier Darach, winner of a gold award. "Winning the award and the subsequent publicity, as well as the quality and variety of buyers on the stand has given us a list of repeat and new orders."
