Welcome to the March/April issue of Attire Accessories. As ever, we are looking ahead and giving you the insights into the hottest new trends and products to stock in-store. This issue we’re focusing on beach accessories, including hats, sunglasses and sarongs, as well as traditional, fashion-forward and classic women’s jewellery styles. And finally, we showcase the best clutch bags to stock.
We also had the opportunity to speak to Clare Belton, Marketing Manager, from CME Jewellery, which, having been a stalwart of the industry for 40 years, gives us great insight into how to run and maintain a successful and flourishing business.

| Brand Licensing Europe opens applications for its Retail Mentoring Programme |

Retailers are being invited to apply for a delegate place on Brand Licensing Europe's popular Retail Mentoring Programme (RMP).
The free-to-attend, CPD-accredited course is delivered through a series of seminars, workshops and 1-2-1 consultancy sessions between May and September 2022. It is now in its 12th year and boasts hundreds of alumni from the likes of Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Selfridges, Halfords, Asda George, Ann Summers, River Island, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Toymaster, The Entertainer, Morrisons and more.

| Bira offers further support for High Street with launch of online trading platform Neartoo |
| |
The British Independent Retailers Association (Bira) has launched online trading site Neartoo, designed to support the High Street get back on its feet.
Bira is calling on independent shops throughout the UK to get on board with the Neartoo. The website, which launched in March, is designed to not only be the latest in online shopping trends, but also help stores in hard hit High Streets recover from the pandemic. The platform allows shoppers to find out what they are 'near to' and encourage them to explore more local shops to where they live or are visiting, but also be able to shop further afield and know they are still supporting independent traders.

| Government announces ‘Calls for Views’ for design and intellectual property |
| |
Following its recent survey on the Designs Framework, the IPO has now also announced a major Call for Views on Design and IP, which is long overdue to support an important UK sector that is a USP on a world stage.
Design is a national and international asset for Great Britain and is also an impressive export sector. This is an excellent opportunity for designers/manufacturers and all those engaged who use design to innovate in many different sectors to examine whether current design laws are fit for purpose and respond by reviewing the existing Designs Framework.
