BCTF EXHIBITORS 37 Milomade, milomade.co.uk, stand 241 Whether choosing a spoon ring or a statement piece, when you buy from Milomade you acquire something not just distinctive and beautiful but something that leaves neither damage nor waste in its wake. Using traditional jewellery making techniques and taking inspiration from the Scottish coast, Evie Milo is a jeweller breathing new life into forgotten things. Instead of depleting the world of it’s natural resources, she chooses to recycle antique silverware. Dusty old heirlooms from one generation are cleverly reinvented for the next. Salvaged sterling silver teaspoons are re-imagined and transformed into items with a new beauty and charm and each piece of Evie’s jewellery is meticulously handcrafted with individuality and uniqueness in mind. Je Suis Jewellery, jesuisjewellery.com, stand N28 Je Suis jewellery, based in Buckinghamshire, was created by Irene McCay over 20 years ago. The jewellery is produced in mainly sterling silver and 9/18 carat gold. Irene prides herself on creating and making sophisticated handcrafted pieces designed to be cherished forever. Much of her inspiration is drawn from the Art Deco and Art Nouveau eras. Irene will be showing four of her collections at BCTF; Mikado is a brand- new collection inspired from one of Irene’s designs that was exhibited in the Victoria and Albert museum. Serenity is a collection that explores how much can be taken from one shape – in this case the simple oval. Angel is a very successful pendant with more designs added to this range. Bella is another popular range. Olive Pearson, olivepearson.com , stand 136 Olive Pearson is a designer-maker specialising in bespoke and limited edition knitted accessories. After a successful career as a cartographer, she fulfilled a lifelong ambition, gaining a degree in textile design from the Glasgow School of Art. Working freelance, selling designs to fashion houses including Diane von Furstenberg, Jaeger and Banana Republic, preceded the launch of her own brand in 2015 to promote ethical, slow fashion, zero- waste products, made to last, using natural, sustainable materials. Fascinated by spirograph as a child, Olive has continued to explore repetition and her signature geometric repeat patterns that play with perceptions, are inspired by everything from architectural details to manhole covers. Olive hand-frames everything on a vintage knitting machine, combining traditional techniques with contemporary design, for private and corporate clients. She will be exhibiting her award winning new lambswool scarf range, hats, wristwarmers, luxurious cashmere, cool cotton and previewing exciting new designs for 2020-21. Atlantic DESIGN Studio, atlanticdesignstudio.com, stand 205 Atlantic DESIGN Studio is the creation of designer and jeweller Lou Gillett, based on the north Antrim Coast. Her statement silver jewellery has been featured in Brides, Ulster Tatler, OX Mag, Vogue and GQ magazines. It has been seen in fashion shows and in collaboration with other fashion designers.
