Made in Britain, the trade association representing close to 2,000 SME manufacturing businesses across the UK, has appointed three new Non-Executive Directors to its board, as it marks 10 years of growth: Warren Gell, Global Global Commercial Director, Dartington Crystal; Katy Moss, Managing Director, Trent Refractories; Henry Beaver, Chief Executive Officer, Beaver Bridges.
They join existing Made in Britain board members: Prof. Chris Harrop OBE, ESG Strategy Director, Marshalls plc (Chairman); Camilla Hadcock, Owner and Director, Roach Bridge Tissues; Peter Atmore, Head of Global Sales and Marketing, Fracino.

ACID has announced CEO Dids Macdonald has won the legal category in the UK Enterprise Nation Awards 2022.
According to ACID: "It is a fantastic outcome for ACID and all designers as it further amplifies our combined voices for the importance of IP design law reform.
"Dids has worked tirelessly over the last 25 years to raise awareness for issues within the landscape of intellectual property (IP) and the design industry."

IHGF Delhi Fair, organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), India, is slated to be bigger in its Spring 2023 edition to be held from 15th to 19th March 2023. Resuming its earlier form and stature with each successive show, this fair will be a full capacity show. The response and revival can be attributed to exemplary growth in exhibitor participation as well as buyer attendance in the past three editions.

On the 21st of July the industry congregated at Sook Oxford Street, London, to learn the Shortlisted entries for the upcoming 2022 Creative Retail Awards. The shortlist presents some of the very best in global retail, leisure, and hospitality design & display with projects including Woolworths South Africa, Sports Direct, Chanel, Sky, Coach, Asda and many more. The Shop & Display Equipment Association held its 75th Annual General Meeting in May, which saw Mark Chatterton, Managing Director of Morplan, voted as the new President of the Association and Rob Hill, Production Director of Graphica Display elected Vice President.
EDEA members logged on to the Virtual AGM and heard all about the hard work that has been undertaken over the past year for SDEA members and the exciting plans in store for the year ahead, including the upcoming Creative Retail Awards in September.

The great and the good of the giftware industry gathered at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in May for the inaugural Gift Awards, recognising the very best products and retailers in the UK. This event marked a significant, unified step forward for the UK gift industry, with the Giftware Association's Gift of the Year awards and The Greats gift retailer awards joining forces in one glittering ceremony.
The black tie awards event was attended by suppliers and retailers, making it one of the largest events in the home and gift calendar. We celebrated 22 category winners from Gift of the Year, as well as the finalists for The Greats, with the fantastic Willsow taking home the coveted Judges' Choice Award after winning in two other categories.

The key out-take from the BHETA / Gardenex / PetQuip Future for International Trade Conference which took place on March 17th, was that while export was likely to outperform the home market in the coming year, it was vital for both importers and exporters to ensure they were not dependent on any one territory for either sales or supply chain.
Speakers, who included UK government insiders, successful companies exporting from the UK currently, market analysts, legal, financial and compliance advisors, concurred in advising both current and novice UK exporters on both big picture opportunities and perils and the detail of how to proceed successfully in the current environment.
