The judges recognise outstanding women and men whose roles and businesses reflect the changing face of today's retail industry and the ways it has evolved to encompass a wider range of career opportunities than ever before. The Entrepreneur Award is given to a retail business owner that has a vision to inspire other women to start their own enterprise. Marisa kickstarted Missoma Jewellery at her kitchen table and has since travelled all over the world sourcing the best materials. The business has seen successful growth in the last three years and the team has grown from 16 employees to 50.
According to a press release, "Priding herself in nurturing this bold young workforce, Marisa seeks to empower the next generation to work hard through collaboration with non-profit organisation TreeSisters, run by women, to plant one tree for every order placed."
