The National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) has announced further additions to its schedule for the NAJ Summit 2022, including Better Business seminar speakers and new brands entering the Supplier Showcase on Sunday, June 12.
Curated with independent retailers in mind but suited to cross-trade professionals, the Supplier Showcase and Better Business seminars will take place on one-day with protected time in the schedule to ensure attendees don't miss out.
Joining the Supplier Showcase are British brand, CW Sellors, Hatton Garden-based supplier, Artisan, and natural diamond supplier, Dimexon, which is also sponsoring the Designer Retailer of the Year category at the NAJ Awards 2022.
Previously announced exhibitors include Clarity Jewellery, Hockley Mint, TickTock Depot, JewelCounter, The Jewellery Show, Fei Liu, TH March, Diamnet, the Guild of Valuers and Jewellers, the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Sierra Consultancy.
Pete Carmichael, Retail Development Manager at Artisan, says: "After many successful years of trading in Hatton Garden we are delighted to be developing our manufacturing chapter. We offer a one stop-shop package to retail and wholesale jewellers including a 24-hour CAD service and bespoke jewellery service at market leading prices. We're very excited to present this at The NAJ Summit 2022 as part of the Supplier Showcase."
Alongside these additions, the NAJ has announced its Better Business seminar speakers who will provide insights and advice targeted at independent retailers alongside the Supplier Showcase on Sunday, June 12. Lloyd Blakey, Founder and Creative Director of Innovare Design will be joined by his colleague and Client Services Director, Rebecca Sharman, to present a session titled, "Unlock Your Store's Potential: Brand Building for Retail Jewellers".
Drawing on their combined experience as design consultants specialising in retail environments, Blakey and Sharman will give business owners food for thought on how to make the most of their bricks and mortar stores and how to future-proof their physical businesses.
The pair will be followed by Sarah Jordan, Founder and Director of The William Agency, who will deliver a talk titled, "Protect Your Reputation: Best Practice for Marketing Diamonds and Lab-Grown Gemstones". She will focus on communications diligence, including staying abreast of the Diamond Terminology Guidelines and the Competition and Markets Authority's Green Claims Code across social media, product descriptions and media releases.
Her advice will be framed around the NAJ's values of honesty, integrity and professionalism making this a useful talk for NAJ members.
Finally, Kat Rose of Cheltenham-based consultancy SharpFox Social will round out the Better Business schedule with a talk dedicated to social media. Rose supports small businesses and start-ups with training, coaching and group workshops, as well as running accounts on behalf of clients. Her talk at the NAJ Summit will focus on optimising your Instagram bio, creating engaging social media content and producing Instagram Stories and Reels that convert to sales. She will also support attendees with one-to-one advice sessions. --The Supplier Showcase was established as an important facet of the NAJ Summit in 2021 and has since been updated and improved to accommodate the feedback of exhibitors and visitors alike.
This small-scale trade presence sits alongside the Institute of Registered Valuers' Conference and the JET Business Network's Retail Jewellers' Congress, in addition to a welcome BBQ and two evening events, including the Members' Gala Dinner and the NAJ Awards 2022.
Retailers interested in attending this year's Supplier Showcase can benefit from 'guest passes' that forgo access to the Valuers' Conference and Retail Jewellers' Congress in favour of a simpler package, including access to the Showcase and Gemstone Marketplace, a timetable of Better Business seminars and lunch.
