Sue Nayler, director of The Wholesaler (UK) Ltd has made Craft Focus aware of fraudsters claiming to be their company. Here's what Sue had to say, "The Wholesaler Ltd web address: https://www.thewholesaler.co.uk has recently been made aware of the existence of a scam website using the url: https://www.thewholesalerukltd.com.This fraudulent site is calling itself The Wholesaler (UK) Ltd and is using our company registration number on its site and on invoices that it's sending out. It's also using the address of our accountant as its contact address.... read more

Joe Davies has announced that is to reschedule its At Home event due to the current UK lockdown, moving the event to 1st to 12th March.The company has also announced that it will remain open with reduced manning throughout January and February to supply post offices, pharmacies, garden centres and online retailers. Paul explained "It's sad news that another lock is necessary but we understand the reasons completely. The good news is that the vaccination program is well under way and the end is in sight. The British Hallmarking Council updates hallmarking requirements from January 2021

The British Hallmarking Council has updated its guidance on hallmarking requirements from 1 January, 2021, following Government advice. Obligations to recognise equivalent EU hallmarks will end in Great Britain. For the Northern Ireland market, EU hallmarks will continue to be recognised by virtue of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act. Any product already on the market before January 2021 will be legal under the same legislation. The question of the length of time this will be effective has not yet been determined and the council states it would be good practice to maintain records demonstrating that items being sold were on the market prior to 1 January, 2021.... read more
