Autumn Fair will be welcoming entrepreneur and small business champion Theo Paphitis as the host of its #SBS Pavilion, a showcase dedicated to highlighting new products from ambitious start-ups and small businesses.
The partnership will see companies in Theo's #SBS community compete for one of 12 free exhibition spots at the fair, and the process will be judged by a panel of experts from the event organiser, Ascential.
The winners will take centre stage at this year's show, which takes place from 2nd-5th September at NEC Birmingham. Each company will gain access to thousands of visitors and buyers as they gear up for the golden quarter, the busiest retail period of the year.
#SBS was created in 2010. Each week, hundreds of small businesses tweet Theo to secure his endorsement. Every Monday, six of these companies are invited to become part of the 2,300-strong community, benefiting from extra publicity and attendance at a yearly conference with access to motivation speakers and workshops.
“I am thrilled to be bringing #SBS to Autumn Fair,” explains founder, Theo Paphitis. “It was born out of the sheer number of business owners on Twitter who wanted to tell me about their new products and services. It exists so that these passionate entrepreneurs have a dedicated space to share their ideas and 'pitch' for endorsement. It's therefore a natural match to bring our initiative to Autumn Fair, an event that is similarly dedicated to championing retailers, their energy and entrepreneurial spirit.”
“Each year, Autumn Fair showcases the best and most innovative ideas and products to inspire buyers throughout the Golden Quarter and beyond,” adds Louise Young, managing director of Spring and Autumn Fair. “It is hugely exciting for us to be welcoming Theo and 12 #SBS businesses. The platform really allows them to shine and boost their order books.”
This year's Autumn Fair will enable visitors to buy products 'here and now' for this key selling period, as well as helping retailers get ahead of the competition for 2019. Visit www.theopaphitissbs.com or www.autumnfair.com for more information.
